Heat Team is Dante Lam's sequel to Hit Team (2001).
Official synopsis (1): A notorious burglar Ken has arrived in HK and targets on a
valuable diamond necklace. It is the last job Ken plans on completing before he
flees the country with this girlfriend, Yu-fung. Ting and Chong are invited to
join a special unit, which is led by Bo Bo, to track down the ringleader.
After Ken successfully gets hold of the diamond necklace, the conflict over the
booty allotment soon develops into a fierce fight among the gang members.
Ken is trapped by Yuen, another gang leader of the same camp. In an attempt
to rescue Ken, Yu-fung turns to join hands with police to catch Yuen and the
other gang members.
Official synopsis (2): Ting (Aaron Kwok) and Chong (Eason Chan) are two
excellent cops, they are smart and good at gun shots. Chief Inspector Cheung
got the news that ringleader Ken has secretly come to Hong Kong and is going
to commit crimes. Therefore, Cheung invites Ting and Chong to join a special team
in order to fight against Ken. Ken and some other criminals have decided to steal
valuable jewels, he will then leave Hong Kong with his girlfriend, Yu-fung. Ting, Chong
and their teammate, BoBo (Yumiko Cheng) start the investigation, but they have
lots of contradictions and do not have team spirit at all. Ken finally got the jewels,
but has disputes with other criminals leaded by Yuen bei-jin (Dave Wang) on the
booty allotment. Thus, Ken and Yu-fung are chased by the criminals and finally
Yu-fung escapes from the danger with the jewel but Ken falls into devil’s clutches.
In order to rescue Ken, Yu-fung joints arm with Ting’s team and offer them clues to
catch the criminals.
On the other side, Yuen bei-jin keeps chasing Yu-fung for the jewels, the special team
monitors Yu-fung in the “Safe House” to secure her safety. During such stressed period
of time, Ting, Chong and Yu-fung are getting closer and their relationships start to
change softly. One night, Ken escapes from the criminals and finds Yu-fung in the safe
house. While Ting and Chong arrest him to the police station, he is shot by Yuen bei-jin.
Ting and Chong witnesse the death of Ken and sympathize to the affliction of Yu-fung,
they decide to catch Yuen bei-jin no matter how dangerous it will be..
