(Pai Piao, Pak Piu, Pai Piau, Bai Biao)

                              Actor

Jason Pai Piao is a key actor in the Hong Kong kung fu / swordplay genre. He was

so busy in the 1970's and early 80's that he sometimes worked on up to four films

simultaneously (despite suffering from insomnia). This is not including his numerous

roles for TVB, which consisted of historical dramas and martial arts storylines.

Pai Piao got his first leading roles in 1972 when the Yangtze Productions Ltd. film

company groomed him as their newest star. He was cast as the hero in their martial arts

films Crush, Action Tae Kwon Do, Blind Boxer, Smugglers and Stranger From

Canton. In 1973, he married former teacher Gloria Wai Tak Lau and had his first child,

though he had to postpone his honeymoon to complete the filming of Stranger From

                                                                                       Canton in Korea.

Jason Pai Piao could also be seen in many of the Shaw Brothers costumed epics. Though

he generally played a hero, he sometimes played a bad seed, such as in Kwai Chi Hung's

Killer Constable, Karl Maka's Dirty Tiger, Crazy Frog, Lau Kar Leung's Disciples of

the 36th Chamber and Shaolin Prince directed by Tang Chia

After the kung fu boom subsided, he was most often seen on television; he is currently

                                                                             signed with the ATV network.
